We all know how bad chemicals can be for our health and yet it seems that many toxic cleaners still make it in to our living space. I like the swiffer but the chemicals are supposedly toxic to my dog and probably to us as well. My wife still thinks bleach is the best cleaner for the bathrooms and yet she gets a sore throat every time she bleaches.
I recently discovered some "green" environmentally friendly products at a store that opened in downtown Tigard. The business is already closing because of poor business but they are going to continue to sell products online. The products that I have found the most effective so far are the line called "biokleen" The products use natural extracts such as grapefruit seed, orange peel and lime peel and some of the products contain live enzymes as well. I like the products so much and feel totally safe using them that I am cleaning the house more frequently. That makes for a happy wife and thus a much happier home.....hope you get the same results!!!

Adrenal Fatigue
It is amazing to me that M.D.'s recognize the two extremes of adrenal disease-namely Addison's and Cushing's and yet do not recognize what so many people suffer from-mild to severe adrenal fatigue.
These two little glands that sit on top of your kidneys produce critical hormones such as cortisol, DHEA and aldosterone along with the catecholamines epinephrine and norepinephrine that give you your pep but can also cause anxiety when over produced.
Although there are varying degrees of adrenal fatigue- that can at least be partially assessed via a salivary cortisol/DHEA test, the symptoms that result are fairly typical such as light-headedness on standing(blood pressure imbalances), blood sugar imbalances, poor concentration and focus, weak immunity and eventually sleep disturbances and muscle weakness.
Aldosterone controls blood sodium and potassium levels and overall with the kidneys regulate fluid volume in the body. A subset of chronic fatigue patients suffers from low total volume of blood which can lead to further weakness in muscles and poor oxygenation of tissues.
Many things can weaken the adrenal glands including chronic stress, food allergies/sensitivities, infection, toxicity, poor nutrition and dietary habits.
If you suffer from what appears to be adrenal fatigue it may be wise to get additional support to help assess the degree of dysfunction and the underlying causes.
Simple things that may help you begin your recovery process include eating smaller meals more frequently, increasing your protein intake, increasing your sodium intake, light exercise, taking additional support nutrients like Vitamin C and pantothenic acid (B5) and of course improving sleep habits. Short naps can do wonders for some people as well.
This blog just briefly summarizes some of the problems and solutions that are available for you if you suffer from chronic fatigue. For a more comprehensive understanding of health and wellness I would suggest you read my book, "Thriving in Mind, Body and Spirit" and sign up for my quarterly newsletters.

The flu season is here!
Okay! I finally gave in to the peer pressure from my wife and daughter to get blogged, twittered, face-booked and who knows what else? They say I have finally arrived!
I guess I will have to discover the, "To Where?" question over time. In the meantime I am glad to be here. :)
The Flu
Do the fear mongers have a legitimate story this season or is it more big business for the vaccination industry this flu season? I don't know............All I know is that I have chosen not to get a flu shot for my myself or my family for a few hopefully good reasons:
1. It is unlikely the flu shot is going to keep up with the latest strains or mutations of any given virus. I have also seen just as many people getting the flu shot getting sick as those who have not had the flu shot.
2. I really do not like getting mercury (Thimerosol) injected into my blood stream; especially not into my kids bloodstream. Yes, the reality is that mercury was finally removed from the common childhood vaccinations but is still in wide use in the flu shot. Unfortunately the vaccination companies have somehow decided that aluminum is the best substitute for mercury in the common childhood vaccinations but that is for another discussion some other time....
3. Third and most important-I have been using several natural herbal/vitamin products over the years that I believe have kept our immune systems healthy. Even if we do get sick with the cold or flu our recovery time has been nothing but spectacular. For a more complete discussion on cold and flu prevention/treatment go to http://www.drdylerscatalogue.com and click on quarterly newsletters.
I am determined to change the health care system in America by changing the health of one person at a time.... I hope you are one of them!
God Bless,
Dr. Dyler
